The Outreach Committee (currently Mylène DiPenta — could use more members!) works to create an environment that is open and welcoming — especially to newcomers, but also to everyone who is interested. Our responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining the Meeting’s website and facebook page
  • Answering questions or directing people to others who can answer them
  • Providing introductory materials to new attenders
  • Maintaining a library that anyone can borrow from
  • Keeping our events calendar up to date
  • Representing the Meeting at public information events
  • Co-ordinating childcare and carpooling for events
  • Various other duties that help make the Annapolis Valley Quaker Meeting as accessible as possible

Interested in finding out more?  Feel free to contact us any time.  We can provide information, meet with you to answer questions, pair you with a “buddy” so you don’t arrive at your first Meeting by yourself, and a variety of other things that we hope will make it easy for you to find out how, and whether, you would like to be involved with Quakers.  You might also find more information on our “New to Quakers?” page.
